Flameroom Favorites

Natural gas utilities have been using recipes to promote the use of natural gas in cooking since the 1930s. With the housing boom after World War II, many utilities set up "Flame Rooms" in company auditoriums to host cooking shows and display the latest in gas appliances. Some-like Atmos Energy and its predecessor companies-published recipe books and recipe calendars. From time to time, we'll republish some of those recipes here. We'd like to offer a few timeless recipes that have firm southern roots-Corn Pone, Hush Puppies and Spoon Bread.
